Launch of the demo site at Compagniekreek and opening of the MTEC building in Brownsweg in the Brokopondo district

The EMSAGS Project in collaboration with WWF Guianas and the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) has established a demonstration site for mercury-free gold mining at Compagniekreek in the Brokopondo district. In addition, the Mining Training and Extension Center (MTEC) in Brownsweg has been set up as a training and demonstration center for environmentally friendly mining techniques, where different stakeholders can meet each other and receive technical support.
