Call for Consultancy

The National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname (NIMOS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are engaged in the multi-year project Improving Environmental Management in the Mining Sector of Suriname, with Emphasis on Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining (EMSAGS).
The EMSAGS project aims to improve environmental management in the mining sector of Suriname, with the emphasis on artisanal and small-scale gold mining as the biggest cause of deforestation in Suriname. The project is funded by, among others, the GEF through the UNDP and implementation is jointly in the hands of the Ministry of Natural Resources and NIMOS.

The EMSAGS project invites international consultant(s) for an assessment of the establishment of the
Environmental Fund:

The Terms of Reference (ToR) for this position can be downloaded from the websites www.nimos.org and
www.emsags.org or requested via [email protected] .

Interested candidates who meet the criteria mentioned in the Terms of Reference can send their application by email, no later than 31 May 2024 at 16:00 hrs. Suriname time to info- [email protected] .
The subject title of the email should read: “Application for assessment of the establishment of the
Environmental Fund International consultant(s)”.
