Workshop Capacity Assessment Score Card

As part of capacity strengthening of institutes engaged in the mining sector in order to monitor the artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) and encouraging environmentally responsible mining technology, training courses have been provided to relevant institutes from 2023. These capacity strengthening trainings will be continued in 2024. One of the main goals of this capacity strengthening is to enable the key institutions to have stronger oversight over gold miners and greater capacity to reduce negative environmental impacts, including deforestation. In the context of this capacity strengthening, the EMSAGS Project carried out an assessment on May 6, 2024, regarding the contribution that these trainings have made to the capacity improvement of the participating institutions.
