Call for Consultancy

The National Environmental Authority (NMA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are engaged in the multi-year project Improving Environmental Management in the Mining Sector of Suriname, with Emphasis on Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining (EMSAGS).
The EMSAGS project aims to improve environmental management in the mining sector of Suriname, with the emphasis on artisanal and small-scale gold mining as the biggest cause of deforestation in Suriname. The project is funded by, among others, the GEF through the UNDP and implementation is jointly in the hands of the Ministry of Natural Resources and NMA.
One of the objectives of the project is to establish a Mining Training and Extension Center (MTEC) at Snesi Kondre.

International firm to design, construct and commission a mercury- free processing facility

The EMSAGS project invites interested firms to submit a bid for the renovation and improvement of the building at Snesi Kondre, which will serve as MTEC.
The Instructions to Bidders, Scope of Works, Technical Specifications, BOQ and Drawings can be downloaded from the website www.emsags.org or requested via [email protected]. A site visit to the building at Snesi Kondre is planned on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025. Interested firms are advised to register no later than Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at 16:00 hrs. by sending an email to [email protected]. Interested firms can send their questions to [email protected], no later than Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 at 16:00 hrs.
Bids including necessary documents can be send by email, no later than Friday January 24th, 2025 at 16:00 hrs. Suriname time to [email protected].
